To all the Mamas out there….

You are stepping into a new stage of life—sending your kids off to college, the military, or another type of leaving the nest.  I’ve done it—twice to college, once to basic training, and once on a deployment across the globe. And let me tell you… motherhood is hard.

No one really prepared me for what this stage would look like, or how it would feel. Watching your kids become adults fills you with overwhelming pride. But right on the other side of that pride is deep heartache. Because you realize—your role in their lives is about to change.  So here’s my best advice:  Feel all the emotions.  Sit with them. Cry it out. Be mad. Be still. Whatever you need—feel it.  But as I tell my patients too: you can’t stay there.  Take the time to process. Dwell in it for a bit. Then move forward.  You have done good.  Now… watch them bloom. 🌱💛
